Manasi Ghosh, a gifted singer from Nimta, a small area in Kolkata, rocked the entire country with the powerful voice and inspiring story of her life. Music came into her life almost as soon as she learned to speak; she was born on the 9th of September 2000. The advent of music in her life, much to say from the house, was due to the identification of her potential by her mother at a very early age; it was Soma, her mother, who became the first mentor and the greatest supporter. Manasi began her public appearances when she was just thirteen, and soon after, she sang professionally to assist her family financially.
She completed schooling at Christ Church Girls’ High School, Kolkata and then graduated in English Honours from Surendranath College. Even in school, she used to compete and give stage performances in many local competitions and singing shows. In 2021, she was the first runner-up in the Bengali reality show Super Singer 3, which opened up new channels to fame for her outside her town.
Nothing was the same because of a different 2025 for Manasi. She appeared for Indian Idol Season 15, and she not only made it through but became the winner after all. Her performances on the show are filled with sheer emotion and energy, and soul, earning her the nickname of “Idol ki Crazy Girl.” Only 24, she walked away with the winner’s trophy, vs 25 like cash, a brand new car, and a nationwide spread fan base.

Manasi didn’t waste any time after winning; she is working on her first Bollywood duet with the famous Shaan, recently composed by Lalit Pandit. Soon she plans to release music of her own, but her big dream includes working with legends such as A.R. Rahman, Pritam, Arijit Singh, Sonu Nigam, and many more, hoping that one day, her voice will be crooned in songs picturized on stars like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone.
From performing on small stages in Kolkata to standing in that limelight on a national platform, Manasi proves that with talent, hard work, and a little bit of courage, one can go a long way. This journey is just starting, and already, it is music to the ears.
