Flight Lt. Siddharth Yadav, an outstanding member of the Indian Air Force, is remembered for his devotion, bravery and sacrifice to the nation. Born in Majra Bhalkhi village of Rewari district in Haryana, which is a region that produces a large number of soldiers and officers for the Indian armed forces. Siddharth was brought up in a very military structured environment, which also instilled in him very strong patriotic values.
His father, Sushil Kumar Yadav, had prior to this been a part of the Indian Air Force, which later on he left to join the Life Insurance Corporation. From a young age, this strong military background of his father’s influenced Siddharth, and also, in turn, played a great role in forming his goal to join the forces. Also, what we see is a large family tradition of service. His great-grandfather was with the Bengal Engineers during the British time, and his grandfather was in the paramilitary forces. Thus, for the 4th generation in his family to step into the service of the nation.
He went through the stages of school in Rewari and, after that, enrolled at Cambridge School. As a very bright and disciplined student, he stood out also for his strong leadership skills and passion for aviation.
Career
Siddharth Yadav’s career in the armed forces took off when he passed the esteemed National Defence Academy (NDA) exam in 2016. After years of intense training and academic preparation, he joined the Indian Air Force and began his professional life as a fighter pilot.
Following which is his in-depth flight training, Siddharth was commissioned into the Indian Air Force, where he developed a reputation as a very able and responsible pilot. Through the years that followed, his rise was steady, and he was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant.

As a member of the air force, he flew state-of-the-art fighter planes, also in several training exercises that increased the Indian defence a great deal. We saw him play out a key role that also required a high degree of discipline, quick thinking on his feet, and delivering when the pressure was highest.
In April 2025, in a routine night time training exercise at the Jamnagar Air Force Station in the state of Gujarat, which was in April 2025, Siddharth was flying a Jaguar fighter jet. That night, the aircraft is reported to have had a tech issue. In the crucial seconds before the crash, he got his wingman out of the plane. Also, he steered the jet away from populated areas to avoid civilian death. That which ended with his own death at the age of 28. But his actions that night were very much put forth as very brave and selfless.
Personal Life
In terms of his personal life, it was noted that Siddharth Yadav was a very down-to-earth and disciplined person who also stayed very much tied to his family and hometown. In the months leading up to the tragic event, which took place, he had put on the engagement ring on March 23, 2025, which was given to him at that time and had also set the date for their marriage in November of that year. His unexpected death left his family, friends and community in great shock and grief.
At his funeral, which was held in his home village, attended by thousands of people, he was rendered military honours at the time of cremation. That which was a great loss to all did see wide recognition from members of the force, government bodies and by the general public.
Hobbies
Although a very demanding career, that of a fighter pilot is what Siddharth left out time for his family when he was on leave. Aviation has always been his greatest passion; for him, flying was more than a profession, it was a lifetime dream.
He was into physical fitness and the great outdoors, which are very much a part of what it means to be a pilot. Also, his friends and colleagues noted that he was a very disciplined, focused individual and that he had a great interest in learning new aviation technologies and techniques.

Though at a young age his journey came to an end tragically, his very last act was that of bravery, which is the true spirit of a soldier, which he displayed by putting the safety of others above his own.
