Gukesh became a chess wonder at twelve. In January 2019, he had the title of Grandmaster at the age of twelve years, seven months and seventeen days, thus making him the second-youngest Grandmaster by then in history. In fact, it almost became his record, just a few days missing securing the first place; however, this achievement stirred up the community of chess, and numerous followers started keeping track of his career, with increasing fervour.
While many contemporaries enjoy brilliance through glitzy tactics, Gukesh converges robust fundamentals into a daring attitude and takes on world-class rivals with aplomb.
