Pinarayi Vijayan has remained one of the most influential personalities in the state of Kerala even now. An adequately muscle-flexing leader, he might not always be the most approachable, but his control over state politics is undeniable. Antagonism and support for him are mostly polarized — such an influence, indeed! Political decisions regarding welfare, infrastructure, and public systems have sustained him for a long time.
Shashi Tharoor, on the other hand, brings a very different energy. He is engaging, hugely eloquent, and connects very well with urban voters, especially among the youth. Although he is technically in opposition to the ruling party, he is seen as more than a party stalwart. He is viewed by many as an idea man and a potential future leader of Kerala, even on a larger canvas.

Mohanlal remains adored. He is no longer just an actor; he is someone people listen to whenever he speaks on social issues. Even now, his name commands a respect that very few public figures manage to carry for this long.
KK Shailaja or “Shailaja Teacher”, as most people still call her, is an understated darling among the masses. She may not always be front-page news, but her credibility among the masses stems from her tough work ethic and the way she tackled health-related crises in the past.
Suresh Gopi has a concoction of mass appeal and political ambition. He has also attracted newer supporters while keeping intact his legion of film-buff admirers. His candid approach speaks to a lot of people across central Kerala.
Like Mohanlal, Mammootty has remained current, not just through cinema but also through his activism on the relevant causes. Calm, very civil in conduct, and presumably very respected, especially when speaking from teh heart.
As Assembly Speaker, M B Rajesh’s profile may not be very high, but his work is extremely important. He is considered even-minded and unfailingly steady-the kind of leader who rarely shoots his mouth off in public yet accomplishes a lot.
Being the leader of the opposition party, T N Prathapan puts in the hawkish measures with fervor and finesse, being a stronghold in almost all big political incidents.
V D Satheesan works close to the people. He doesn’t chase the limelight, but he shows up when it counts.
Arif Mohammed Khan, serving as Kerala’s Governor, is probably the state figure most talked about in the political realm because of his frankness and occasionally controversial views.
